Dr Kelly Sweeney is a Consultant clinical psychologist based in North Manchester. She worked in the NHS for 17 years in forensic and adolescent services. She now works as the Clinical and Governance lead in a private looked after child (LAC) residential service.
In her independent practice she specialises in working with older children, adolescents and adults and has an interest in working with anxiety, stress and the development of identity and personality in young people. She uses an integrative psychological approach to treatment drawing on modalities such as CBT, Compassion focussed therapy, Dialectical behaviour therapy and EMDR.
Kelly continues to complete assessments for Family Courts and Social Care around placement and intervention planning, risk of harm to self and others and risk assessments of parents/carers.
