Dr Petra Gwilliam is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Coaching Psychologist with experience across the NHS, higher education, and various organisational settings.
She qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2001 and has led NHS psychological services, bringing senior-level insight to her work with individuals and teams in complex systems.
In more recent years, Petra has specialised in supporting leaders and professionals across public and private sectors, drawing on clinical, occupational, and coaching psychology to address the emotional and relational challenges of leadership. Her focus areas include work-related stress, burnout, emotional load, values conflict, and the pressures of high-responsibility roles.
Petra takes a warm, thoughtful, and evidence-based approach, using models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and systemic consultation.
She is fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She holds Chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) as both a Clinical Psychologist and a Coaching Psychologist, and is listed on the BPS Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU) for occupational testing.
