Dr Elvish is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, registered with the HCPC. She has over 25 years experience of working in healthcare settings. She has worked in independent practice since 2010, alongside working within NHS and University settings. She currently works in independent practice in Lancaster.
Dr Elvish has held a number of leadership roles including, Neuropsychology Service lead within a Memory Assessment Service and Staff Well-being Service lead for a research programme at The University of Manchester.
Dr Elvish has experience of working with both adults of working age and older adults with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, obsessive compulsive issues, trauma, complex grief and loss. She uses a range of evidence-based psychological therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Alongside her private practice, Dr Elvish currently runs a Staff Well-being Service for academic and research staff in connection with the University of West London. Dr Elvish has undertaken research throughout her career, and has presented at national and international conferences. She has published widely, and acts as a peer reviewer for a range of academic journals.
